MONDANESE

MONDANESE
Mondanese is a set of glyphs that I invented.
As its characteristics, the letters are formed with both curve and straight lines, sharp corners and dots.
Those characteristics make the letters symbolic and playful, and gives you a strong impression.

Its name, "Mondanese", is coming from the dots like a "moon"
and the fact that the design was inspired by Sundanese letters,
which is used by an Austronesian ethnic group in Indonesia.
PROCESS
Initially I dropped down a bunch of toothpicks on the desk and took pictures of them to get some inspiration.
Then, I created the bones of glyphs by connecting the edges, erasing or adding strokes, or changing the shapes from lines to dots.
